Hi ur mom,

Socialization isn't a problem. Most of us belong to local homeschool associations and have weekly gatherings. We also do a homeschool PE class at the YMCA where a bunch of homeschooled kids get together twice a week. There are a lot of intramural sports here for all ages, so finding a team isn't difficult.

My son went to traditional school through half of 5th grade, and with computers (bebo and myspace) and cell phones, he stays in touch with friends from school. We've also lived in the same neighborhood since he was born and he has a few life-long friends on our street. They don't go to class together, but they hang out after school.

In Baton Rouge, most parents who can afford it send their kids to private schools, so even if he went to traditional school, he wouldn't go with his friends in the neighborhood. They all go to different private schools all over the city.

There is plenty of social life outside of a traditional school setting. As more people homeschool, there are more kids to get together in associations.
